Is the lack of control over ones life contagious?

My dear friend told me on several occasions that he saw it coming. It's not like he liked his job anyhow. I told him he was being paranoid, because I didn't want to believe the worst. I've been trying to release control and have faith that the cosmos will provide what I need. I haven't been actively looking myself and I feel bad asking him to look on a materal deadline that we share. Dependence has risks and rewards and the values are so very high.

The one with all the power in this situation passed me and sighed. He couldn't look me in the eyes. It was a difficult day for all of us. Can't have been easy for the one who actually fired my friend. He may be somewhat of a jerk, but he's brilliant and sensitive as well. All the individuals with a stake in the matter are brilliant and sensitive. Ironically, the remaining place marker is nothing short of an idiot.

Is the lack of control over ones life contagious? If everything happens in threes, then who is next in this game of kick the working stiff? Who's next to prematurely move on? We are artists anyway, we were lost in uselessness. We have so many dreams that we don't know which one to put our energy into first. Commitment has never been easy for our kind!

One thing I know for sure is that release is vital. We must leave the doors open for new people and opportunities to walk in. Sometimes, timing is just off and we're instantly thrust into a precarious situation in order to make necessary changes. We are not the kind of people that fear the unknown, we're just scared of knowing its over.
