This past weekend was fabulous! We had so much fun. On Friday, we went to a midnight sing-a-long of Buffy's "Once More with Feeling" at IFC Center. Probably one of the geekiest things one can do in NYC, but an unbelievable amount of fun. It was like going to the Rocky Horror Picture Show, but instead it was Buffy the Vampire Slayer with loads of props.
Then on Saturday night we saw Miss Kitten and Ellen Allien at Studio B in Brooklyn. Whoah! We danced for 4 hours straight. I can't even recall dancing that much since I dropped Eons ago. We even danced as we waited at the bar for drinks. Ellen's musical taste is of no compare even though she's not the best beat matcher, that didn't matter because her music was flawless. Ellen is a master producer and Miss Kitten is the mistress of performance artists. Miss Kitten happens to be an amazing DJ as well as a charismatic performer. When we finally left at 4am, she was still going strong, but we decided we needed pizza, stat...
We also took some time to go shoe shopping, the movies and prepare for moving. We ate at more than a couple of diners and had a group therapy session at a book store. Not all weekends can be as jammed with goodies like this one was or I'd be too tired to make a living. Today, I've got a case of "The Mondays", but its because I'm tired now and it was all worth it. I can feel spring coming back and then summer and then... New York's finest outdoor dance parties, lazy sunny days in the park and weekend day trips to Long Beach. Nothing seems wrong when you live in another reality. When I think about what's wrong, I snap back and remember...Yo! I live in New York and I don't give a flying fuck!
