"Red is the color of the Black People!"

I love the color red! It's vibrant, lush, passionate and freely exists in nature. I've never color-coded my closet, but I've known people who do that type of thing. I've never shopped specifically in the RED section at the thrift store, but I generally go through it while I shop. Recently, I noticed my pattern of wearing red by looking at my pictures through the years. It got me to thinking about that one time... I was walking down the street, minding my own business and all of a sudden, this angry older woman's voice comes out of nowhere and says... "Red is the color of Black People!" I think she was trying to tell me I can't wear red because I'm not Black. I will never know for sure what she meant, but that's what it sounded like to me. It's one of the craziest random things I've heard in my life and I probably think about it every time I wear something red. Hopefully, by acknowledging her bold statement in my blog, I will set the memory free. And I still wonder... is RED is the color of the Black People???
