As we all wait to see the final outcome in the Senate race. We know, one thing for sure, the balance of power has shifted and we will all be better off! The people have mobilized! Whether it was a "Referendum on Iraq" or the Middle Class outrage for having our tushes in a sling...? Whatever the case may be, Americans have come out to vote and I am ecstatic!
One thing that gives me hope for this great country that has been tarnished by the current administration is that the Democrats have officially taken back the House making Nancy Pelosi the first female Speaker of the House. Finally, a woman in the most powerful legislative position in the country! That's a big step forward for Democrats, for Americans with a backbone and for all women. We currently live in greed-invested pride war plundering haven for the quasi-illiterate and I take comfort in knowing that we will finally have a Speaker of the House who speaks her mind. Nancy Pelosi is a brilliant and beautiful woman and with her at the helm, things will get done! She is a graceful lady but she has the balls to make things happen.
Voting one's conscience does matter. Speaking up for what you believe in can actually change the landscape of the world. It's nice to know that people are pissed off and taking action! As opposed to just saying they're proud or ashamed of being an American, citizens are actually realizing that they can be part of the solution. Alienation and hopelessness is a reality of many poor Americans, but Election Day is the day where that doesn't matter, everyone has equal voting rights under the law. Blessed is the day when we all realize the power we have to pick ourselves up by our bootstraps. I have lived and voted in 4 different states in this nation and for the first time since Clinton, my hope for a better world is real.
